Travelling during the fall season, this is your chance to discover North America's eastern seaboard as you explore everything from UNESCO-listed old towns and the hidden gems of Atlantic Canada to the icons of New England. Explore everything from Contrast French-colonial Montréal and Quebec, exploring with horse-drawn carriage rides, before hopping between Atlantic Canada's Nova Scotia and New Brunswick where everything from lighthouse tours to lobster fishing and whale watching see you discover the region's hidden gems. It's all framed by the season's vibrant colours. Alongside it all, you'll return to spacious suites, stylish bars and fine dining on board Oceania's Insignia.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
UK to Montréal

After included VIP airport lounge access, board your flight to Montréal where, on arrival, you'll transfer to your hotel for the night.

Stay: Montréal hotel

Day 2
Embark Insignia

After breakfast you've got a morning to explore the cultural hub of Montreal, from its historic Old Port to the Museum of Fine Arts and beautiful Montreal Botanical Garden. Then, embark Insignia and settle in among the teakwood, neo-classical furnishings and rich fabrics of your suite, with its own private veranda. Then, this evening, it's time for the first of your open-seated, gourmet dinner, for the likes of authentic Italian at Toscana and 28-day aged steak, swordfish and Maine lobster at the Polo Grill. Come night-time, the likes of live piano-accompanied bars and a country club ambience serve up expertly-mixed cocktails, ideal for a post-dinner digestif.

Day 3
Quebec City, Canada

Surrounded by several miles of granite walls dating back hundreds of years, Quebec City’s fabulous Old Town exudes European character, exemplified in the iconic Château Frontenac. Another architectural gem is the fascinating Musée de la Civilisation, a treasure trove of items recreating the French-speaking city’s early days.

The 24th September voyages stays an additional night in Montreal rather than visiting Quebec City.

Stay: Insignia

Day 4
Saguenay, Canada

Sail to Saguenay today, perched at the tip of a magnificent fjord. Travel along the Craftsman Road with a guided tour to sample local cheese before learning about the city's history of glass-blowing and soap-making. We'd also highly recommend a visit to Saguenay National Park where you'll discover how glaciers shaped the landscape before kayaking through its waters to spot beluga whales, seals and marine birds.

Day 5
Baie-Comeau, Canada

Quaint Baie-Comeau is one of the mellower destinations you’ll visit on your cruise, offering a chance to experience small-town life on the north shore of Canada’s St. Lawrence River. Founded around a mill that supplied paper to the Chicago Tribune in the 1930s, the town maintains an unpretentious, working-class feel that invites you to slow down and savor the little things that make life sweet, like a pretty park or a magnificent view. You’ll have easy access to natural beauty, as the entire region is part of UNESCO’s Manicouagan-Uapishka Biosphere Reserve, and Le Boisé de la Pointe-Saint-Gilles nature reserve is in the heart of town.

Stay: Insignia

Day 6
Sept-Iles, Canada

Once a quaint fishing village, Sept-Îles rose to prominence during the World War II boom, becoming one of Canada’s premier ports. Graced with majestic scenery, beautiful beaches and an attractive archipelago just offshore, Sept-Îles provides plentiful opportunities for adventure and relaxation. Discover the islands by boat or spend the day on the largest, Île Grande Basque, which is full of picturesque hiking trails and seaside picnic spots. In the city, don’t miss the superb museums, including Musée Shaputuan and Musée Régional de la Côte Nord.

Stay: Insignia

Day 7
Havre Saint Pierre, Canada

Situated on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Havre-Saint-Pierre is a charming town embraced by the spectacular scenery of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve. With a geological history dating back 500 million years, the archipelago is a captivating array of more than a thousand limestone islands, islets and reefs. Granite monoliths, soaring cliffs, graceful arches and secluded grottoes adorn the islands, along with an amazing diversity of plant and animal life. Marvel at the unique seascape during a coastal drive along Route 138, or take a boating excursion to visit several of the islands.

Stay: Insignia

Day 8
Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada

Enjoy the breathtaking view from the monument honouring Captain James Cook, the first European to map the area in 1767. More history you in the Corner Brook Museum, with its displays of marine artefacts, forestry exhibits and collections from first-nation history.

Day 9
Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada

Anchor in to historic Sydney today in the Atlantic Canada province of Nova Scotia. Walk among the outdoor museum to discover the cultural link between Scotland and Cape Breton Island, taking in its historical architecture and enjoying a hands-on fudge-making class. Other highlights include the National Historic Site of Fortress Louisbourg and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

Stay: Insignia

Day 10
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Sail to Halifax today, where a daily ceremonial gun is fired at the National Historic Site of the Halifax Citadel, reminding you of the city's military history. It's all best understood with a tour of Halifax’s architectural gems as you learn about the events that shaped the city, including the sinking of the Titanic. Other highlights include a tour of beautiful Peggy's Cove and the Lighthouse Route, that'll see you stop at fishing villages, breweries and UNESCO-listed Lunenburg, a British colonial settlement. The lobster industry is an essential part of life in Nova Scotia, and we'd highly recommend a cruise of the harbour while you learn about the industry and watch as the crew pulls lobster traps from the sea before an indulgent lobster lunch.

Stay: Insignia

Meals: B L D

Day 11
Saint John, New Brunswick, Bay of Fundy

After breakfast, anchor in to Saint John, the capital of New Brunswick. Highlights include the Reversing Falls, a daily tidal phenomenon that reverses the flow of the Saint John River, best observed on a glass-bottom 'Skywalk', and the Hopewell Rocks, rock formations caused by tidal erosion. We'd also recommend a privately-driven car tour through Saint John to pause at its 19th-century architecture and the Old City market to sample coffee, seafood, locally-produced rhubarb wine and local dried sea vegetables known as dulse. Further afield, the Fundy Trail is an ultra-scenic coastal drive that affords you beautiful forest and beach vistas or, if you'd rather stay on the water, cruise the Saint John River on a riverboat as you take in the lighthouses and abundant wildlife, with a photo stop at the Reversing Falls accompanied by a professional photographer who'll help you get the best snaps.

Day 12
Bar Harbor, Maine, USA

Anchor in to upmarket Bar Harbor today, established in the 19th century as New England's top summer resort. Highlights include the sweeping vistas of Acadia National Park – be sure to keep an eye out for breaching humpback whales below – as well as the area's Norway-esque fjords, Victorian villages and the exclusive mansions that were once home to famous families like the Rockefellers, Carnegies and Vanderbilts. Back on board, be sure to sample an indulgent afternoon tea if you haven't already, practise your swing at the putting green and, come evening, attend a spectacular show at the onboard theatre.

The 24th September 2025 voyage calls at Portland, Maine, instead of Bar Harbour. In Portland, be sure not to miss the Observatory, America's only remaining historic maritime signal tower, offering superb views over the city. The Portland Museum of Art, located in the thriving Arts District, boasts the works of Picasso, Monet, Renoir and many other masters.
