Douro Discovery

APT Travelmarvel’s stunning new-build ship, MS Estrela, made her maiden voyage through Portugal’s beautiful Douro Valley in summer 2024.  Custom-built to sail northern Portugal’s famed waterway, the ship’s interiors have been immaculately designed to reflect the beauty and character of the region, with a soft colour palette, plenty of natural light and a distinctly southern European ambience – laid back, but ever so stylish.

Indeed, once you step on board, you’ll feel completely immersed in your surroundings, whether that’s the French Balcony suites with their electric slide-down windows, which bring you right up close to the Douro’s famed landscapes, or the dining and entertainment, both of which draw inspiration from Portugal’s unique heritage.

The ship’s outdoor spaces are equally alluring, and very social. There’s a large sun deck, perfect for conversing with fellow guests during those long summer days, and a spacious swimming pool, surrounded by plush sun beds. You’ll even find a putting green for whiling away the time between ports.
