Introduction
With its powdery pink beaches, colonial charm and cerulean waters teeming with marine life, Bermuda is proof that good things come in small packages. Add on a collection of boutique, luxury resorts, endless water sports and some of the world's best golf courses, and this is island life at its most idyllic.
And, for those who want more than just sun, sea and sand from their island escape will find plenty to enjoy. Stroll the streets of St George's to get a feel for the colonial heritage here; browse the artefacts at the Tucker House Museum, tour the Bermuda Perfumery and lunch on lobster or curried conch by the waterside.
Of course, the beach is never far away, and you'll find plenty of opportunities for relaxation. Perhaps soak up the sun on Horseshoe Bay, Elbow Beach and John Smith's Bay, go snorkelling at Tobacco Bay or slip below the crystal clear water to dive the wrecks that dot the coast.
Alternatively, amble the walkways at the Spittal Pond Nature Reserve, explore the Crystal Caves to see vast stalagmites and stalactites or take in the quaintly English afternoon teas and cricket matches that take place alongside the defiantly Caribbean style calypso and reggae shows.
