AmaWaterways' intimate and contemporary fleet feature high design and the luxury of personal space, all the while accommodating an average of just 156 guests – fewer than on many traditional river ships. Innovative new ships

In 2019, their innovative ship, AmaMagna, was recognised by TIME Magazine as one of the 'World’s Greatest Places', offering enhanced personal space with more than 50% luxury suite accommodations as well as four unique dining venues, a chic onboard cinema and an expansive Zen Wellness Studio. For adventures further afield, 2024 saw the introduction of the stunning AmaLilia, designed especially for exploring Egypt’s Nile River, and the AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia built for genuinely unique cruises on Colombia's Magdalena river. These stunning new vessels join the likes of the AmaDara, which offers one of the most luxurious experiences on the Mekong between Vietnam and Cambodia.

With membership of the prestigious French culinary society La Chaine des Rotisseurs, food and drink play a huge role in the AmaWaterways experience, and guests can expert expertly crafted menus from talented chefs which feature exquisite, locally inspired cuisine. Aside from the delicious breakfasts and gourmet lunches and dinners, there's the chance to experience the Chef's Table, included in the cost of all European cruises and enjoyed at least once during your voyage, as standard. Here, you'll have the unique chance to watch on as your multi-course meal is created in front of you, accompanied by fine wines selected just for the occasion. Indeed, unlimited fine wines, beer and soft drinks are included as a matter of course.

AmaWaterways has curated a diverse menu of shore excursions, with a variety of choices each day, designed to bring each destination to life. Walking tours are tailored to a variety of fitness levels, while the likes of guided hikes and bike rides are operated in small groups of just 15-20 to ensure the best possible experience and that no-one gets left behind. You'll also have the chance to enjoy a programme of immersive culinary-themed Special Interest Tours including the likes of cooking demonstrations and tastings. And, with ships often docking just steps from the heart of the city, there's also the opportunity to explore by bike or on foot, at your own pace.
