Le Caméléon, Caribbean Coast

Located right beside a gorgeous stretch of Costa Rican beach, not far from the Caribbean village of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, the boutique Le Caméléon is something of a dream destination. There are just 23 rooms, studded around a lovely pool in verdant tropical gardens.

There’s almost too much to do in the outstanding outdoors, from wildlife and cultural tours, to any number of sea sports, but there’s plenty to indulge in at the hotel, too. A ‘Jungle’ Spa and a Jacuzzi add to the pleasure of the beautiful pool and beach club. The latter enjoys bar service in stunning sandy surroundings, but the food in the main restaurant is just as impressive, best enjoyed after the regular cocktail hours held at the hotel.

Rooms are super sleek, white with accents of flamboyant colour, and every creature comfort needed. All have patios or balconies designed to soak up the splendid scenery. All in all, this is the ideal option if you're headed to Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, with several great beaches nearby – some ideal for surfing, others for snorkelling.
