From Costa Rica's award-winning Nayara brand comes its newest offering: a luxury tented camp in the heart of the Arenal Volcano National Park, with hot-spring plunge pools, sloth sanctuaries and gourmet dining.
Panoramic rainforest views surround just 18 luxury tents – 12 with an interconnecting option that are ideal for families and groups – and are best taken in from each deck's private hot spring-fed plunge pool. The nature-led delights continue in outdoor showers and wood-clad terraces, a stylish contrast to luxe gold-gilded bathrooms, free-standing bathtubs and four-poster canopy-covered beds, with oversized windows that look out onto the impossibly verdant rainforest.
Alongside the likes of whitewater rafting and canyoning is, of course, the iconic green peak of Arenal, explored with misty walks in the Arenal Hanging Bridges Park as you spot the likes of howler monkeys, hundreds of bird species and sloths. In fact, the latter reside in their very own 'sloth sanctuary', the nearby hillside a protected refuge thanks to its thousands of Guarumo trees, the sloth’s favourite habitat.
More zen pursuits like daily yoga and meditation are also on offer, alongside jungle-framed, hot spring-fed pools and a swim-up bar serving smoothies and espressos – the latter of which can be explored on coffee tours to create your very own blend. It's all fuelled by the gourmet restaurant’s locally-inspired meals that are taken on the wood-clad terrace, a perfect prelude to a cocktail at the main lounge tent accompanied by the hum of the jungle's nocturnal residents.
