Accommodation

Inspired by the postcard-perfect surrounds, the resort’s architecture and décor use a natural palette that complements the Mackenzie landscape. Rooms are decidedly contemporary, featuring designer furnishings, underfloor heating and WiFi access. Upgrade for larger rooms and private balconies that take full advantage of Lake Tekapo views to provide an excellent stargazing experience. Villas are also available for apartment living as fully equipped kitchens allow for self-catering and oversized bathtubs up the comfort levels.

Dining

Mackenzie Country is enjoying something of a foodie revival with locally sourced produce high on the agenda. Peppers is no different, with the Pakinui Restaurant & Bar capturing the unique flavours of the region across true farm-to-table menus. You’ll be able to enjoy tender chicken and juicy steaks with views across the lake. Vegetarians are equally well catered for; as are oenophiles, with a range of New Zealand’s finest wines available.

Facilities

As with much of remote New Zealand, Peppers is all about getting the most out of the unique environment. There are fishing rods, mountain bikes and remote controlled jet boats all available to borrow while a selection of books and board games can see you through the odd rainy afternoon. There’s also plenty of nearby ski slops, hot springs and golf courses to keep you occupied. Back at home, you’ll also have use of the WiFi and, importantly, the bar.
