Location
Located a few minutes away from Brisbane’s Central Station, Inchcolm Hotel is in the middle of the CBD, locally known as The City. Here you’ll find parks, the city’s premier shopping destinations and many of Brisbane’s historical sites. For a different feel, cross the river to South Bank where you can discover boutique cafés, ethnic restaurants and an inner-city beach.
Accommodation
The hotel has seen its heritage exterior untouched since 1920 when it was first constructed. Inside, however, a 2014 expansion has brought typically New York art-deco interior design to downtown Brisbane. The result is elegant, spacious rooms with a modern feel – each room includes an iPad Mini and complimentary WiFi. Upgrade for coffee machines, larger rooms and suites with four-poster beds.
Dining
Inchcolm’s restaurant, Thomson’s Reserve, uses only seasonal Australian produce to create a refined menu that relies on the combination of delicate flavours. Order a la carte dishes such as sashimi starters and roast lamb main or opt for a five or eight course degustation menu. Here you’ll be guided through the best in Australian cuisine from ocean to farm. Each dish has been carefully matched to a complementary wine list available on request. In the morning, the restaurant puts on a variety of spreads to match all tastes with everything from light breakfasts to gourmet baked beans on toast.
Facilities
The hotel is best known for its excellent service. From babysitting to concierge, staff are on hand to give you tailored advice on which parts of metropolitan Brisbane might appeal to you. More tangibly, Socialites Bar on the ground floor attracts guests and locals alike. Inspired by the roaring twenties, its relaxed atmosphere plays host to a great range of wine, scotch and, especially, cocktails.
