Location

Set amidst a beautiful forest just outside the town of Rotorua, just two hours drive from Auckland on New Zealand's picturesque North Island, Treetops Lodge and Estate is a haven of peace and tranquility, surrounded by sparkling streams and 800 year old trees.

Accommodation

Treetops offers a range of accommodation including villas, lodge rooms, a family retreat and the delightful Pheasant Cottage, all of which are tucked away in the beautiful native New Zealand forest. The villas, which are perfect for couples, are beautifully furnished and feature a spacious bedroom, a luxury bathroom with spa bath, a small kitchenette and a stylish lounge with fireplace. The Lodge Wing, located in the main lodge, is ideal for families and groups. The Lodge wing is totally self-contained and boasts its own dining and living areas as well as four beautifully appointed suites. Other great family options are the aptly named Family Retreat, a home from home where families and groups can enjoy space and privacy, or the owner's Pheasant Cottage. Both come with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area where you can create your own family feast, or why not push the boat out and have a personal chef and Lodge assistant do the hard work while you relax. All rooms feature TV, DVD player, hair dryer, mini bar and WiFi internet access.

Dining

Breakfast is served each morning in the conservatory or in the privacy of your villa and consists of the freshest seasonal fruits, preserves and pastries, omelettes or a cooked breakfast made from the best locally sourced produce. Light lunches are served each day in the lodge's restaurant or al fresco on the patio. In the cooler months there's also the chance to dine around a fire pit in a luxurious woolen knee blanket. Lunch may include trout or game from the Treetops Estate, a light salad from the vegetable garden, a delicious risotto or a perfectly prepared steak sandwich. Each evening guests are welcome to enjoy pre dinner canapés and aperitifs before settling down to a four-course feast or chefs tasting menu, showcasing the best regional ingredients and New Zealand wines.

Treetops offers guests the ultimate in relaxation, and there's no better example of this than the lodges one million dollar spa, which takes its inspiration, therapies and treatments from local Maori culture and traditions. For keen golfers, the Kinloch Club, designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus offers a world-class links experience on the shores of beautiful Lake Taupo.
