Candidasa

Visit Candidasa

Introduction

The relaxed resort town of Candidasa lies to the east of Amuk Bay, a pleasant and peaceful spot.

The bay and surrounding coast attracts divers and snorkellers in large numbers and despite the tragic and ignorant destruction of one of the coral reefs for limestone mining, the area's other reefs are perhaps the best in Bali.

Back on land, Candidasa is a good base from which to explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike, and with its relatively long history, there are some interesting attractions to discover, an 11th century temple among them.
