Location
Looking up at the majestic escarpments of Boynton Canyon, the resort is set at the confluence of a series of hiking and biking trails that stretch far beyond the property’s 70 acres. For some, the unique geography of the place holds an intensely spiritual meaning while others simple come to enjoy the scenic walks, outdoor tennis courts and championship level golf course. What’s more, it’s only a 15 minutes’ drive from the airport making it a good option to reach Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, a five and three hour drive respectively.
Accommodation
Accommodation comes in the form of luxury casitas immaculately furnished and accented by Native American colours and patterns. From the private decks and patios, enjoy views of the canyon’s grandeur or head back inside for a cosy evening by the fire. Start the morning with a complimentary newspaper and freshly squeezed orange juice. For something a bit larger, look to the wood beamed ceilings and oversized baths of the suites and even the eponymous feature of one of the four Pool Suites.
Dining
If there are two things the resort’s five restaurants have in common, it’s an uncompromising approach to food and fantastic canyon views. Enjoy tapas style dining in View 180 or gourmet takes on South-western classics in Che-ah-chi, named after the Native American’s name for the canyon. For a more casual dining experience, the burgers, flatbreads and tacos of Tii Gavo are an excellent choice while Mii Amo Café serves full-flavoured cuisine, heavily informed by its own organic garden.
Facilities
Perfect your game with a golf or tennis lesson or take things a bit slower with a yoga, meditation, massage or spa session. You can also educate yourself with a range of Native American courses or head off the property on a jeep, helicopter or train tour. Of course, there are all the activities that you’d expect at a luxury resort including croquet, table tennis and swimming but there’s also wine tasting sessions and trips to local art galleries.
