Fort Rajwada, Rajasthan

Location

One of India's westernmost cities, Jaisalmer occupies a commanding position in the arid desert region of Rajasthan. Fort Rajwada lies on the outskirts of town, offering superb views up to the iconic Jaisalmer Fort perched atop a ridge to the west. The railway station and the main road leading to Jodhpur and Bikaner are within easy reach.

Fort Rajwada’s two restaurants and bar cater for every appetite. Roopal offers local, Indian and international cuisine, all day long, while Sonal is an altogether more romantic and refined affair, with the emphasis on fine dining. Poolside barbeques are a regular feature and the view of Sonar Fort from the well appointed Paatu bar is as fine as the cocktails.

Facilities

The fabulous outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by attractive porticos and a pool terrace is a highlight, more so given the sun baked setting. There is also a superb spa at the hotel’s Health Club, and the billiard room is a relaxed place to while away an hour or two in the evenings.
