This stunning lodge is located in remote western Tanzania, overlooking Lake Tanganyika. Well off the beaten track, it offers a mesmerising combination of adventure and relaxation, including the chance to see up close one of the largest groups of chimpanzees in Africa.
The arrival is simply spectacular, as you're brought by boat across the lake, with only the thatched roof of the main building visible against the dense jungle foliage. The 'banda' style rooms have been fashioned from retired dhows and almost all of the lodge has been created using sustainable materials. Spend your days visiting the chimpanzees who live in the mountains behind the camp and are completely relaxed.
In the evenings enjoy a drink or two at the lamp-lit bar while gazing across the lake to the distant mountains of The Congo. A true African adventure and an experience of a lifetime. Other activities include snorkelling, kayaking or fishing on the lake, or hiking the mountain paths while cooling off in waterfalls and rock pools. What's more, the camp backs onto a gorgeous, white-sand beach and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, framed by the imposing Mahale mountains.
