Madinat Jumeirah is a vast Arabian-style complex, divided into three stunning and discreet hotels, all scattered amid terraced gardens by the side of the Arabian Gulf and connected by meandering paths and waterways. There’s even a souk at the heart of the resort and traditional abras (water taxis) to help transport guests around.
Rooms are beautifully decorated in traditional Arabian themes and boasting a private balcony and acres of space, it’s hard not to feel like an honoured guest.
The hotel lacks for nothing in terms of diversions and culinary options. There are three exquisite restaurants and two tranquil lounges serving an outstanding array of cuisine, from Spanish tapas and authentic Arabian dishes to succulent steaks and the finest seafood. Extend your search to the whole resort and a fairly long stay could be spent entirely on site, shopping, swimming, taking pampering spa treatments and trying (in vain) to visit all of the resort’s restaurants.
We like: The traditional water taxis to transport guests around the resort
Best for: Arabian hospitality in a luxurious setting
