City
There's a genuinely home-from-home feel to this beautiful old colonial house a five-minute stroll from the capital. So much so that you can help yourself to drinks from the bar and snacks from the pantry and keep your own tab. It's Relais & Châteaux luxury at its best.
A few of the rooms are located in the main house but most are in the green and palm-fringed garden with balconies or terraces that face the pool. Each is tastefully decorated and features all the essentials, including flatscreen TVs and Wi-Fi connectivity.
There's also an excellent restaurant, serving up the best in grass-fed meats, sustainably harvest seafood and fruit grown in the kitchen garden. The traditional afternoon tea is a delight, and you'll be able to take your meals on the porch in a private setting under the stars.
Staff members have been at the Rosedon for an average of 20 years and the charming manager, Muriel Richardson, is a former President of the Hotel Association. Their pride in their work really shines through and if you like your hotels to be informal and intimate, we've no doubt at all that you'll love the Rosedon.
We like: The warm and friendly service and home-from-home atmosphere.
Best for: Couples looking for an intimate, informal island experience.
