Situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi Game Reserve, Sanctuary Baines' Camp is renowned for its romantic sky beds and walking with elephants activity. Set in a grove of trees and surrounded by papyrus beds, the eco-friendly camp was built using commercially grown wood and recycled tin cans. The camp is accessible via Sanctuary Baines’ Camp private airstrip, located approximately 45-60 minutes from camp, depending on water levels.
As the smallest Sanctuary camp, Baines' Camp has only six suites, ensuring an intimate experience. All six are opulent and luxurious, featuring traditional safari ceiling fans, en suite facilities and four poster beds. The deluxe en suite bathrooms come with outside ‘star baths’, where guests can enjoy an indulgent soak in a truly breathtaking setting. The property is placed high, raised above the permanent water of the Boro River, and includes the option of nights under the stars in the lodge's signature 'sky beds', which can be wheeled out onto each suite's private wooden deck.
The main area of Baines' Camp features a large open-air deck for a truly African outdoor dining experience. Enjoy gourmet cuisine, complemented by vintage wines while looking out over the lagoon. Game drives occur twice daily, in the company of wildlife and expert guides – keen to show guests how to track and follow even the most elusive of animals that inhabit the Okavango. Guests are also invited to participate in elephant experiences and canoe safaris. Additional facilities include a swimming pool and wide wooden deck, an ideal location to relax whilst observing the wildlife in their natural habitat.
