Sanctuary Chief’s Camp, Moremi Wildlife Reserve

Location

Located in the Moremi Game Reserve – known as the predator capital of Africa – the newly renovated and reopened camp sits among Okavango Delta's seasonal flood waters, which arrive in early June and stay throughout the African winter. Integrated into the environment of winding waterways, the area is renowned for its outstanding game; home to huge herds of buffalo and elephant, lions are frequent visitors. Guests are advised to fly to Maun or Kasane and access the camp by light aircraft, using the private landing strip 15 minutes away.

Accommodation

The camp's spacious new pavilions – three times the size of their predecessors – come with private pools, restful outdoor seating areas and magnificent views across the surrounding delta. En suite bathrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and folding glass doors while outdoor showers and oversize bathtub soaks are the perfect way to end a day's game viewing.

Dining

Dining at Sanctuary’s Chief Camp is always an enjoyable experience, blending Western and African influences with fresh local and imported produce. You'll have the option to enjoy the newly extended dining area, which now has its own pizza oven, or to dine in the privacy of your suite or by the camp's pool. Each day, following the afternoon game drive, classic sundowner cocktails and canapés are served a spot selected for its sunset views and the chance to spot wildlife as the light begins to fade.

Twice-daily game drives give you plenty of opportunities to see the region's exceptional wildlife with expert guides providing their insight into the flora and fauna that makes the Okavango so renowned. Back at camp, facilities include a spa offering a full range of packages with indoor and outdoor beds, a delightful pool, a safari shop and a well-stocked library.
