City
Location
Located in central midtown Manhattan, between the lights of Broadway and the calm of Bryant Park, this is Times Square’s first luxury hotel. From indoor Ferris Wheels and an animatronic T-Rex to fine beers and big name show, all of the delights of one of America’s most recognisable landmarks are on your doorstep. It’s also mere blocks from Fifth Avenue’s shopping, Central Park’s green spaces, Rockefeller Plaza’s skyscrapers and the inimitable Museum of Modern Art.
Accommodation
Rooms are sleek and minimalist with impeccable styling. Beds are piled high with crisp white linens, plush throws and down pillows, matched only by the custom furnishings, including a coffee table inlayed with mother of pearl. Bathrooms are equally decadent with expansive white marble sinks, recessed lighting, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and wood grain ceramic tile flooring. For views of Times Square’s iconography look to the Premier Rooms while suites offer oversized living spaces and some of the city’s most luxurious accommodation.
Dining
At ‘The Knick’, as it's often known, master chef Charlie Palmer’s creative menus are driven by a passion for fresh, market-sourced ingredients and vibrant flavours. These are best realised in his restaurant of the same name; overlooking Times Square, sample dishes include Scotch quail eggs in bacon mayonnaise and braised short ribs burgers with pickled vegetables. For gourmet ‘grab ‘n’ go’, Jake’s vaulted barrel ceiling is host to artisanal barristers dishing up a selection of fresh croissants, pastries, fruits and flatbreads.
Facilities
In a nod to the hotel’s rumoured legacy as the birthplace of the legendary cocktail, The Knickerbocker offers Martini lunches and well-stocked bars. One such rooftop watering hole, St. Cloud, is perched directly beneath the iconic New Year’s Eve Ball with privileged views of Times Square. Of course, no self-respecting Manhattan hotel would be without an exclusive spa and that all-important fitness centre
