Location
Colourful and vibrant Nashville is the centre of the US music industry and the home of country music and the Grand Ole Opry. The Union Station is one of the city’s most interesting and historic hotels near Broadway – just 10 minutes from Nashville International Airport and a short stroll from Vanderbilt University, the Music City Centre, and the Entertainment District. The Country Music Hall of Fame is a major downtown attraction, as is the Ryman Auditorium.
Accommodation
Part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, the Union Station Hotel occupies a landmark neo-Romanesque railroad station and features a majestic 65ft high stained glass ceiling in the lobby. Featuring marble bathrooms, the renovated accommodations are warm and refined and incorporate the railroad station’s original design, so no two guest rooms are the same. Each room has either one king or two queen beds with triple sheeting and down comforters. Plush bathrobes and a coffee maker, plus a workspace with ergonomic chair are included as are modern amenities such as LCD TVs with premium channels and WiFi juxtaposed against historic architectural touches. For additional living space and upgraded amenities there are 12 deluxe suites available.
Dining
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Prime 108, is the proud recipient of the prestigious Forbes Four-Star award for culinary excellence. Old-world in style, with a grand stone fireplace and walnut panelling below the 22-foot ceilings with crystal chandeliers, this elegant eatery serves hearty breakfasts followed by a varied all-day-menu derived from organic vegetables, locally-sourced meats and sustainable seafood. Next door to the restaurant, the Prime 108 Lounge is a grand and stylish place to enjoy signature martinis, premium cocktails or selections from the extensive wine list.
Facilities
As well as the restaurant and lounge, there is an impressive event space including the stunning atrium lobby and a large, covered outdoor terrace. Other amenities include a newsstand and fitness room and nearby are lots of sporting and recreational activities including golf at Gaylord Springs or Hermitage. The Union Station Hotel’s enviable downtown location means the main attractions of Music City are only a short walk away.
