Location
Found right on the banks of the Zambezi River in the western portion of the Zambezi National Park, this tented camp is ideally poised to appreciate some of Zimbabwe’s finest wildlife experiences and most iconic scenery. It’s also just one hour’s drive from Victoria Falls, with a complimentary shuttle bringing you out to appreciate this world wonder. It’s the largest waterfall in the world, with millions of litres of water cascading in torrents over its dramatic precipice every second. Airport transfers are also included.
Accommodation
Accommodation comes in the form of just eight Bedouin luxury tents, dotted along the riverbank in secluded positions. Each is packed full of safari chic, complete with lounge area, outdoor showers and a private deck complete with plunge pool. It’s the perfect spot to cool off from the African sun and take in the views over the Zambezi River. You’ll be able to enjoy world-class wildlife viewing right from your own terrace. Back inside, a fully stocked minibar and an en suite bathroom round off the comforts while complimentary daily laundry sums up the superb level of service you’ll receive.
Dining
A stay at Zambezi Sands is an all-inclusive experience. You’ll be treated to soft drinks, beers, wines and local spirits served either at the welcoming bar or in the dining room along with truly delightful meals. International favourites and local, gamey delicacies are best taken in the shaded al fresco deck. You’ll also end the day with drinks round the fire, perhaps beginning with a breakfast in the bush. Your guide will take you out to a secluded spot to enjoy an intimate meal accompanied with stunning views of the Zambezi scenery and, hopefully, its wildlife.
Facilities
While the lounge, bar and restaurant are delightful and feature free WiFi, it’s the included activities that are the real standout. And, whether you’re driving or walking, experienced guides take great pleasure in introducing you to the camp’s pristine surrounds. You can even take to the waters with a fishing trip or on an inflatable canoe or motorised boat. However, simply relaxing in your private deck splash pool – while overlooking the Zambezi – can be just as enjoyable. Elephants stalk the river banks while hippos, waterbucks and bushbucks hide out among the reed banks and islands. You’ll hear lions roaring at night and be treated to a stunning array of birdlife.
