Ålesund, Norway
Make your first foray into Norway with a stop in fairytale-like Ålesund, with its turrets, spires and art nouveau architecture. Scenic Geirangerfjord is just a stone’s throw away. Here, thousands of years of glacial erosion have resulted in sculpted, towering mountainsides with dramatic waterfalls. To grasp Ålesund's beauty, take a jaunt up Mount Aksla for a bird’s eye view of the magical town. Alternatively, drive the famous Path of Trolls, a roadway literally blasted out of the mountainside. Finally, to travel back to the Viking Days and discover marine life, explore the Saga Islands. Begin on Giske to walk in the footsteps of Viking legends, and then continue to Godoy to visit the Atlantic Sea Park. Built directly into the landscape, it features aquariums teeming with bright sea creatures.

Flåm, Norway
Flåm is nestled in a tributary of one of the world’s longest and deepest fjords. Its steep mountainsides, nearby roaring waterfalls and deep valleys give you a one-of-a-kind encounter with Mother Nature. The epic density of Flåm's dense green mountains dwarfs even the grandest of cruise ships sailing in on the glass-calm waters.
Board the Flam Railway for the world’s steepest train ride, rumbling 2,800 feet up into Norway’s wilderness or kayak calm waters of Aurlandsfjord for breathtaking views of grazing goats or sheep at mountain farms on the fjord’s edge. Restaurants and cafes serve up Norwegian fare with farm-fresh ingredients. Sample the famous brown and white goat cheese in nearby Undredal.

Cruising the Arctic Circle
Cruise Norway’s starkly beautiful, fjord-indented coast as you make your way to the imaginary line that demarcates the Arctic Circle. Crossing this line is a thrilling rite of passage for many travellers. Take in the staggering views from all around the ship and enjoy your day onboard. The jagged mountains here are dusted in snow even in the summer months and extend along the coast as far as the eye can see. You’ll spy remnants of the last Ice Age in the forms of hundreds of rocky islets and skerries scattered across the sea.
