Your journey begins at Rome's Civitavecchia Port, sailing south along the Italian coast towards Sorrento, with the opportunity to take a trip to the island of Capri. You'll then continue to Sicily, before calling in at the beautiful capital of Malta, Valletta – a city steeped in exquisite baroque architecture. Enjoy a relaxing day at sea as you sail towards Greece, making a stop at Igoumenitsa before heading north to discover two jewels of the Adriatic – Kotor, Montenegro, and Dubrovnik, Croatia, both of which hold UNESCO World Heritage status. After one last stop in Zadar on Croatia's gorgeous Dalmatian coast, you'll conclude your voyage in Fusina on the shore of the Venetian Lagoon. Throughout, enjoy the ship's many superb amenities, including a state-of-the-art spa, a theatre and 11 exceptional restaurants where you'll be treated to gourmet meals.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Fly to Rome & embark Seven Seas Prestige™

Enjoy complimentary airport lounge access before your flight from the UK to Rome. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Civitavecchia port to embark Seven Seas Prestige™ for your luxury all-inclusive cruise with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The ship departs late this afternoon. While 40 percent larger than Regent's Explorer-class vessels, Seven Seas Prestige™ only accommodates 10 percent more guests – a maximum of just 822 guests with 630 dedicated crew members on each voyage. As such, it offers one of the highest space-to-guest and crew-to-guest ratios in the industry.

Take some time to settle into your stylish balcony suite and familiarise yourself with the ship's glamorous public spaces and world-class facilities. This evening, enjoy your first delicious dinner onboard, with no fewer than 11 dining venues to choose from, alongside several bars where you can enjoy unlimited complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

If you would like to add any pre-cruise nights to your time in Rome, please speak to one of our travel specialists.

Day 2
Sorrento, Italy

The first stop of your voyage is Sorrento, a beautiful clifftop town overlooking the Bay of Naples, founded by the Greeks around the sixth century BC and later expanded by the Romans. Today, it's renowned for its atmospheric old town, fragrant lemon and orange groves, and proximity to a whole host of captivating destinations including the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Capri. You may wish to focus your time here in Sorrento itself, which has more than enough to keep you occupied, or you may prefer to join an excursion to one of the aforementioned places in the surrounding region.

Day 3
Messina, Sicily

Today brings you to Sicily’s shores, specifically to Messina, the island’s third-largest city. In the Middle Ages, this was an important port departure for European knights on their way to the Crusades. Today, you can still see many historically and architecturally significant landmarks in Messina, which has been extensively restored. The cathedral here with its unusual astronomic clock is particularly renowned, as are the 12th-century Catania Church and the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele. Should you wish to explore outside of the city, Messina is a great starting point for a day trip to Mount Etna and Crateri Silvestri.

The 12 August 2027 voyage calls instead at Reggio Calabria, where azure Ionian waters meet the rugged peaks of Aspromonte.

Day 4
Valletta, Malta

The city of Valletta was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, and today’s visit will show you why. Step into Malta’s capital city and immerse yourself in the rich history and architectural splendour of this beautiful port city. Its crown jewel is without doubt St. John's Co-Cathedral, an intricate masterpiece of baroque architecture, while the oval dome that tops the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the city's most distinctive landmark, easily visible from afar. Head up to the Upper Barrakka Gardens, meanwhile, for a leisurely stroll with superb views overlooking the Grand Harbour.

If you’re in search of further spectacular views, set out on a day trip to Dingli Cliffs and marvel at the rugged coastline on the opposite side of the island, or take a scenic ferry ride to Gozo Island in the northern part of the Maltese archipelago. Or, for a fascinating insight into the island's past, you could venture inland to visit the ancient walled city of Mdina, Malta's former capital, founded over 4,000 years ago.

Day 5
Sailing the Ionian Sea

Enjoy a day of rest onboard Seven Seas Prestige™ as you sail the Ionian Sea. Savour exquisite cuisine at one of the ship’s several dining venues. Book yourself in for a treatment in the spa, sip a cocktail in one of the elegant bars or lounges, and enjoy a show or a lecture in the onboard theatre. You could even try a cooking class in the teaching kitchen, or simply kick back and relax in your spacious suite. Take advantage of the many amenities available to you on this state-of-the-art ship as you sail toward Greece.

Day 6
Igoumenitsa, Greece

Today, you'll arrive in the Greek port town of Igoumenitsa. In the fourth century BC, Igoumenitsa was an important town in the Kingdom of Tresprotia. Many centuries later, it was completely destroyed during World War II after being occupied by the Axis powers. In its long history, one thing remains the same: Igoumenitsa continues to bounce back. Today, you’ll find a tourism port with guests arriving from all over Europe to begin their Greek holidays. Day trip options here include the Monasteries of Meteora, the historic town of Ioannina and the ancient ruins of Nikopolis.

Day 7
Kotor, Montenegro

Spend a day in Kotor, a charming town in the innermost part of the Bay of Kotor – a spectacular, fjord-like inlet of the Adriatic Sea, framed by steep-sided, towering mountains. The town itself is incredibly well-preserved and is surrounded by stone walls. A walk through Kotor will bring you to the impressive Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, dating back to 1166. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend several hours allowing yourself to get lost, slowly meandering among the narrow, cobbled lanes and picturesque squares.

There are numerous opportunities to embark on guided excursions to discover more of what Montenegro has to offer, including trips to the likes of Perast (one of the prettiest towns on the Bay of Kotor) and Budva, arguably the showpiece beach town on Montenegro's Adriatic coast.

Day 8
Dubrovnik, Croatia

Today you'll find out exactly why Dubrovnik has been called 'The Pearl of the Adriatic' for many years. Known for its marble-paved squares, stone houses, cobbled streets, and elegant fountains, Dubrovnik dates back to the seventh century, when it was founded by a group of Roman refugees. The Old City here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its many beautiful historic buildings have been restored to their former glory. The city walls, once serving as vital protection against invaders, offer a wonderful perspective on Dubrovnik's old town from above.

While you could very easily spend your entire day here, there's also the chance to explore further along the nearby coastline, which is home to some of Croatia's finest beaches. Or, you might be tempted to take the cable car up to the top of nearby Mount Srd, for spectacular views overlooking Dubrovnik and beyond.

Day 9
Zadar, Croatia

The final day of your cruise brings you to Zadar, on the northern Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. This city is rich with thousands of years of history and has been ruled at various times by the Romans, Ostrogoths, and Byzantium. In centuries past, it became a centre of naval power and commerce, rivalling Venice’s power. Its compact Old Town is a delight to explore, either independently or on a guided walking tour, or you could opt to visit one of the region's spectacular national parks, such as Plitvice Lakes, Krka and Paklenica, each of which perfectly showcases Croatia's astonishing natural beauty.
