Introduction
There are excellent wildlife watching opportunities on the Indian Subcontinent and it's possible to take a safari style trip here. Although India, Nepal and Sri Lanka don't have the same quantity of large mammals and you won't see the Big Five here, you can still find big cats, with tigers taking the place of lions.
In India travel to the Madhya Pradesh region, Bandhavgarh or Pench National Park to spot tigers in the wild. Alternatively, in Sri Lanka, visit the Yala National Park or Minneriya National Park to see Asian elephants and leopards.
