The Laikipia Plateau is the incredibly scenic eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, stretching to Mount Kenya. Remote, rugged, romantic and home to sprawling ranches, this is a dramatic and dreamy destination. Many of the ranches have been transformed into private game reserves, with high concentrations of wildlife and luxury lodges that feel like the private homes most of them originally were.

Being privately owned, Laikipia's reserves allow for night game drives, horse back safaris, bike tours and camel treks. The tangled thickets, riverine forests and wooded gorges provide sanctuary for a vast variety of wild animals - black rhino and elephant among them.
