Introduction
The Panorama Route runs through Mpumalanga Province past a range of cascading waterfalls, majestic mountains, deep gorges and host of other natural wonders.
Lydenberg and White River are the Panorama Route's gateway towns, while the former gold panning settlement of Pilgrim's Rest is among the most popular.
The Blyde River Canyon is the third deepest in the world, located in Mpumalanga to the west of Kruger National Park.
Viewing points such as God's Window and Wonder View offer incredible vistas of the 800m drop into the riverbed below.
The canyon stretches for 33 kms along the African escarpment and looks out to the massive dolomite spirals of the Three Sisters. Millenia of water erosion has created the cylindrical sculptures of the phenomenal Bourke's Luck Potholes.
