Activity adventure | History & culture | Natural world | Northern Lights | Wildlife | Winter
On the picturesque coastline of Hudson Bay in northern Manitoba, the once-prosperous trading post of Churchill is regarded as one of the best places on earth to see polar bears. On this tour, you'll venture out on special Tundra Buggies, 4x4 jeeps adapted for life in the Arctic and converted to maximise your bear-viewing experience. In the company of expert local guides, you'll follow the annual polar bear migration, returning each night to cosy, log-cabin accommodation complete with roaring fires, gourmet food and, with luck, views of the Northern Lights. There's even the chance to try dog sledding and, weather permitting, enjoy a helicopter flight.
