We’re delighted to introduce a new addition to our collection of luxury rail journeys: the La Dolce Vita Orient Express. This spectacular train marks a new chapter in Italian travel – one that blends timeless glamour with modern indulgence, all set against the backdrop of Italy’s most iconic landscapes. Inspired by the golden age of Italian design and the spirit of the 1960s, La Dolce Vita Orient Express is more than a train – it’s a celebration of la dolce vita, the sweet life.

La Dolce Vita Orient Express
Owned and operated by the original Orient Express brand, this train reimagines the romance of rail with a distinctly Italian soul. Its itineraries span the length and breadth of the country, from the Eternal City of Rome to the coastal charm of Portofino, the ancient cave dwellings of Matera, and the sun-drenched landscapes of Sicily. Each journey is paired with curated off-train experiences, offering deeper immersion into Italy’s culture, cuisine and heritage. And, with interiors and craftsmanship lead by Italy's finest artisans, every detail evokes elegance, warmth and artistry. Think lacquered finishes, plush carpets, bold colour palettes and vintage touches, all wrapped in contemporary comfort.
Cabins & Suites: Boutique luxury
With just seven carriages and space for 62 guests, the La Dolce Vita Orient Express offers an intimate, boutique experience. Accommodation is divided into two categories, each thoughtfully designed to reflect the train’s ethos of comfort and style.
Deluxe Cabins feature a clever day-to-night layout, with sofas that convert into double beds and ensuite bathrooms – a rarity on luxury trains. The décor is understated yet inviting, with mirrored walls, slatted wood ceilings and tactile fabrics. Guests can order Italian delicacies via an in-room tablet, from fennel taralli to artisanal cheese boards.
