The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa
To the south of Brisbane, in bohemian Byron Bay is another fantastic east coast resort - The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa. The multi award-winning resort is located within 45 acres of coastal subtropical rainforest near Tallows Beach, just minutes from Byron township.
The highlight of The Byron is the web of elevated walkways weaving their way through the rainforest, which has been carefully regenerated and maintained by a dedicated team of management and staff in consultation with the local community. The resort has recently created peaceful self-guided rainforest walks along the timber boardwalks, which snake through the rainforest toward Lake Tallow, where uplifting quotes celebrate life and the local environment.
Complimentary daily yoga is a delight and takes place on the sun deck overlooking the infinity pool with resident ‘life extension’ specialist Sheldon. The resort also runs other activities, such as guided rainforest walks, local farmers’ market tours with the resort’s Head Chef, as well as having a poolside sauna, gym, tennis court
As Byron Bay is a Mecca of health and wellness in Australia it only stands to reason the onsite spa and wellness would be world-class. The spa team has recently launched their first signature treatment menu, created in partnership with iKOU and Pevonia Botanica, inspired by the surrounding rainforest flora and ocean influence.
The Byron’s relaxed atmosphere and idyllic setting help to create a unique experience, where the natural surroundings are very much the focus. The forest supports three endangered paperbark, rainforest and coastal pine ecosystems and over 90 bird species, as well as native black wallabies and Echidnas.
The resort has outstanding architecture and has achieved numerous awards, including Best Resort Accommodation in the Australian Travel and Tourism Awards for the past two years and the #2 Best Spa in Australia in the Luxury Travel Gold List Awards.
The resort has 92 one-bedroom suites (standard or superior). The superior suites feature eastern-inspired interiors and are supremely comfortable and airy, succeeding in bringing the external surroundings into the rooms themselves.
