LAN and TAM Airlines
For the sixth year running, LAN and TAM have been awarded the best airline in South America in the Skytrax World Airline Survey, the largest global survey of airline passengers.
The airlines connect 135 destinations in 24 countries. It is the largest network in South America, where it has more than 42 destinations in Brazil; 20 destinations in Colombia; 16 destinations in Chile; 16 destinations in Peru; 14 destinations in Argentina and five in Ecuador.
LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines, members of LATAM Airlines Group, has also announced the opening of the largest VIP lounge in South America in Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport Santiago, Chile. LATAM Airlines Group new VIP lounge is spread over two floors and caters for LATAM’s passengers with excellent facilities to satisfy even the most discerning traveller’s demands.
Also, the LATAM Airlines Group have just opened its first official unified VIP Lounge at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo, which is the largest in Latin America. Spanning over 19,375 ft with a capacity for 450 people, the lounge was designed to provide passengers with maximum comfort and convenience. Designed by world-renowned designers and architects, the décor is made of natural materials, there’s an entertainment room, and a buffet of hot and cold dishes and premium beverages.

Also, LAN and TAM Airlines are now both oneworld alliance members meaning when you fly with the airlines, you can enjoy the many benefits oneworld has to offer. These include better connectivity; more options to accrue and redeem points with all members of the alliance; more than 950 destinations; more than 600 VIP lounges and priority check-in.
South American Airpass
Further, when you fly internationally to South America with LAN or TAM, you can enjoy huge savings on flights within South America with the South American Airpass, making LAN and TAM an excellent choice for those who travel regularly within the region.
Significant savings are also possible even if you are only taking one flight: for example, a one-way flight from Calama – the airport for visiting the Atacama desert in the North – to Santiago is almost £200 cheaper when using the South American Airpass.
VIP lounge at Guarulhos Sao Paulo Airport
LAN and TAM have opened LATAM Airlines Group's first lounge in Sao Paulo's Guarulhos Airport. The lounge, located on the mezzanine floor of the departure are of the new Terminal 3, is the largest in Latin America. It can accommodate 450 people and is open from 5.00am to midnight every day.
The VIP space was designed by world-renowned names including Mathias Klotz and Lillian Allen from Chile, with consulting assistance from the Paris-based Studio Putman, one of the world’s best design studios. The decor incorporates natural materials like wood, marble, onyx and leather, with colours and details that aim to represent the richness and diversity of South America. The ambience offers plenty of natural light and a privileged view of the airport.
In addition to an entertainment room with individual tablets, video games and Wi-Fi connection, the tables and chairs are arranged in different formations and all have sockets and USB ports, enabling travellers to remain connected at all times. For those who prefer to relax, the lounge offers exclusive shower rooms and bathing products scented like tropical Brazilian fruits.
The hot and cold buffet area is nearly 30 meters long and offers dozens of options. For drinks, customers can choose from a wide variety of premium beverages or relax at a draft beer bar. Coffee lovers can enjoy a selection of hot beverages from Suplicy Cafés Especiais.
The LATAM Airlines Group VIP Lounge is open to all customers flying Business Class with TAM (JJ or PZ), LAN or other oneworld alliance members.

Premium Business Class
In 2012 and 2013, LAN was recognised as Latin America’s best Premium Business Class in the World Travel Awards, because their cabins offer high levels of comfort and entertainment. 100 per cent horizontal reclining seats and dividing screens between seats provide maximum privacy and ensure a great rest. The seats recline to become a bed 58cm (22.8-inch|) wide and 185cm (72.8-inch) long, and the width between seats has been increased 188cm (74-inch), well above what other airlines offer. Passengers can enjoy a modern in-flight entertainment system with individual 15.4-inch touch screens, and indulge in a menu prepared by regional culinary experts.
Economy Class
The Economy cabin offers ergonomically designed seats with adjustable headrests for superior comfort. The seats on long-haul flights on A340, B767 and B787-Dreamliner aircrafts are equipped with individual screens offering cutting-edge entertainment. With even the simplest service details, like a smile or a friendly greeting, the staff members aim to demonstrate their constant commitment to offering the best on-board service. You’ll also enjoy flavours and presentation specially selected for Economy meals and snacks.
TAM Airlines
Business Class
The TAM Business Class is specially designed for comfort and luxury. Passengers can sit back and relax on a semi flat seat, with seat length of 182cm(71.6-inch), pitch of 177.8cm (70-inch) and width of 51cm (20-inch). They can freshen up with a bespoke Rituals amenity kit and then enjoy a wide selection of music, movies and TV series on their personal 15 inch screens. There's also an award winning wine list featuring both European and South American wines to enjoy during the flight and with meals.
Economy Class
Economy passengers can relax and recline up to 115º with a seat pitch of 81.2 cm (32-inch) and a width of 43cm (17-inch) as they travel in style with an amenity kit that caters to every traveller’s needs. They're able to enjoy a wide selection of music, movies, TV series and games and can choose from two meal options, or simply request any special meals, such as vegetarian in advance.
TAM also offer Comfort Seats (Emergency Exit and First rows), which can be booked in advance.
