Alice Somerset
Biography
Having read geography at Exeter, it was perhaps the months spent poring over maps that inspired Alice’s wanderlust. However, with her surname, studying in Devon must have been a challenge because she soon left for the States after graduating. And, after a stint working, she embarked on her very own Jack-Kerouac pilgrimage across America, travelling between New York and San Francisco. Ask her about the alligator swamps of Louisiana, hiking through Zion National Park and camping in Monument Valley with the Navajo tribe. However, she’s also passionate about travel closer to home, drawing on years of experience in creating special holidays to Europe. She’s just as comfortable recommending her favourite palazzo hotel in Venice as she is pointing you in the direction of Croatia’s best seafood restaurants. Then, looking north, Alice ranks Sweden’s ICEHOTEL and Norway’s ultra-scenic Flåm Railway as her favourite experiences in Scandinavia.
