Location
See a different side to Ho Chi Minh City at Villa Song, a colonial-style hotel set amid sleepy palms on the banks of the Saigon River, around 15 minutes by boat from the city’s central pier. In 2013 the hotel was refurbished and restored to its original French colonial splendour. The hotel provides good access to the Cu Chi complex of Viet Cong tunnels.
Accommodation
Choose from four types of accommodation at the hotel: Sanctuary Rooms, Sanctuary Suites, Art Suites and Imperial Suites. Sanctuary Rooms have either twin or king-sized beds, while Sanctuary Suites have rich wooden furnishings and minimalist hues. Take an Art Suite for a fantastic view of the river, or an Imperial Suite for a spacious deck to unwind on.
Dining
Nothing beats returning from an exciting day’s sightseeing to have an evening drink looking out across the river at the outdoor Song Vie Bar. Then when it’s time to eat, retire to the main restaurant, the Bistro Song Vie, which offers an eclectic range of Western, East Asian and Vietnamese dishes.
Facilities
Relax and rejuvenate at the indulgent spa, enjoy the outdoor pool and verdant gardens, or make use of the regular shuttle bus that drops guests at the centre of town, by the Saigon Opera House. River cruises and gallery tours can be arranged through the hotel, while a number of other activities are available close by, including golf, tennis and scuba diving.
