With two days in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll have plenty of time to explore. A centre of commerce and culture, the city formerly known as Saigon is pulling Vietnam firmly into the 21st century. But, despite its glass-and-steel skyscrapers, there’s plenty of the past here, too, from its traditional markets and atmospheric temples to poignant reminders of the turbulent years of the Vietnam War, from the War Remnants Museum to the Cu Chi Tunnels, used by the Viet Kong during their final assault on the city. Your two-day stay also affords the chance to include a night away from the ship at a hotel in the heart of the Mekong Delta.
