Experience the rich Aboriginal heritage of North Queensland on this full-day Daintree Dreaming tour. Your day starts with a pickup from Silky Oaks Lodge and a drive south towards Port Douglas. From there, head north along one of Australia's most scenic coastal drives to Cooya Beach (Kuku Kuku), a traditional fishing ground of the Kuku Yalanji people. Spend some time exploring the diverse ecosystems of beach, mangrove and coastal reef, and learn Aboriginal hunting techniques including spear fishing in the company of one of the Kubirri Warra brothers from Kuku Yalanji Cultural Habitat Tours.
After lunch you'll continue north to Mossman Gorge in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, where you'll discover unique flora and fauna, beautiful waterfalls and the fascinating indigenous heritage of the local Kuku Yulangi community. Enjoy a swim in one of the rainforest pools before heading to the town of Mossman and the Janball Aboriginal Art Gallery for an audience with resident artist Binna. Return to Silky Oaks Lodge at the end of the tour.
