This tour and three-day cruise works perfectly as an extension to a holiday in Laos. You'll start in Pakse and visit the stunning Bolaven Plateau, the Tad Fane waterfall and the Tad Lo waterfall. You will then board your boat and start your three-day Vat Phou cruise, starting with a visit to the Vat Phou ruins, a majestic pre-Angkorian tenth-century temple complex. Next up you will experience authentic rural Laotian life with a visit to some small villages such as Huei Thamo and Ban Deua Tia. On the final day of your cruise, visit Ban Veuthong, and transfer to Khone Island where you will taste local seafood cuisine, and witness the impressive Pha Pheng waterfall - known as the 'Niagara of the East'.

Pakse & Boloven Plateau - Champasak (Don Daeng)
On arrival in Pakse, you will be met by a Destination Asia local guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Lunch is included at a local restaurant, after which you will visit the Bolaven Plateau, an extinct volcano with a high altitude meaning it's noticeably cooler that the town below. Then, visit a tea and coffee plantation and taste the high quality tea and coffee grown by local farmers. Continue to visit Tad Fane waterfall, where thin ribbons of water plunge hundreds of feet into a deep ravine below. Then, take a trip to the Tad Lo waterfalls. On the way, you'll pass minority hill tribe villages that are the home of Kha and Lao Thung tribes, and you'll stop at one of them. Return to Pakse and spend the remainder of your day at leisure.

Champasak - Vat Phou Cruise
In the morning, board a long-tail boat for a 2.5-hour journey to Champasak. You will be welcomed on board with a drink and a set lunch menu. In the afternoon, you'll visit Vat Phou ruins and museum, the majestic pre-Angkorian 10th-century temple complex. Transfer back to the boat and enjoy the tropical sunset on deck. Enjoy a set menu dinner on board whilst the boat docks for the night at Ban Muang.

Champasak - Vat Phou Cruise
Your boat will leave at 6:00 am, and a continental breakfast will be served on board. The first stop is at Huei Thamo village, where you can visit some rural life and a mysterious hidden forest temple called Oum Muong. After getting back on board, start to cruise southwards passing by the wilderness paradise of 4,000 islands. In the late afternoon, stop at Ban Deua Tia where you can walk through the small Laotian village to observe their traditional way of life. You will then enjoy a set dinner on board before docking for the night at Ban Deua Tia.

Champasak - Vat Phou Cruise
Your first stop today will be at the Ban Veuthong, where you will be transferred by a small boat to Khone Island. Visit the old French railway and walk across a bridge which links Khone Island and Det Island. Afterwards, transfer to the mainland via a small boat to Xieng Di fishing village for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. A bus will transfer you to Pha Pheng waterfall, which is otherwise known as The Niagara of the East, before you return to Pakse and transfer to Don Daeng Island for a night at La Folie Lodge. Spend the remainder of the day at your own leisure.
