Introduction
From best-in-class economy seats and a fleet comprising some of the world’s most advanced aircraft to a world-first non-stop route between the UK and Australia, it’s no surprise that Qantas was awarded Best Airline in Australia-Pacific at the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Non-stop service between the UK and Australia
Introducing a world-first, Qantas flies non-stop between London Heathrow and Perth. It’s all down to the new Dreamliner 787-9, host to market-leading Economy seats, innovative Premium Economy offerings and a Business class furnished with all of the features you’d typically find in first. What’s more, Qantas’s 17-hour flight has cut journey times by up to an hour to destinations across Australia, thanks to the efficiency of Perth’s brand-new transit lounge. And, for those travelling in Business, London’s new flagship premium lounge sees customers off in style.
The Qantas A380
Put simply, flying on the Qantas A380 is an award-winning experience. This state-of-the-art aircraft has garnered the likes of the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award, the Australian International Design Award and the Best First Class in the Australian Business Traveller Awards. It’s even quieter than other large aircraft and uses 17% less fuel per seat.
And, the A380’s award-winning experience is showcased across each of its classes. While the aircraft features Qantas’s most spacious International Economy seat, Premium Economy passengers are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine in their own upper-deck cabin as they settle in to enjoy contemporary dining served on stylish tableware. Then, in Business, passengers are treated to everything from chauffeur transfers and world-class premium lounges to a fully flat Skybed and the services of a Sommelier in the Sky. However, it’s First that impresses most, mixing in eight-course tasting menus, spa amenity kits and extra-wide beds complete with plush duvets and sheepskin mattresses.
The Qantas Dreamliner
The new Qantas Dreamliner brings a touch of class to state-of-the-art technology in every cabin. Windows that are over 60% larger than similar aircraft provide the views, while there's just 236 seats on board, meaning each passenger is afforded more space and legroom than you'd usually find on a long-haul flight. Business travellers benefit from a 1-2-1 seat configuration, providing everybody with direct aisle access, while Economy seats have been designed by the Australian industrial designer David Caon, with moodlighting, foot nets and bespoke fabrics designed by Caon himself.
Business seats feature fully lie-flat beds to ensure you arrive fresh and rested
Economy seats have been worked on by renowned designer David Caon and come complete with a technology deck for your personal belongings, and 1,000s hours of entertainment at the touch of your screen
