Location
Hamilton Island, part of the Whitsunday collection of 74 islands, offers idyllic beaches fringed by coral reefs. Set on the eastern extreme of the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, its waters are home to fascinating marine life and 70% of its forested interior is protected as a national park. The Beach Club itself is directly sited on Catseye Beach in the centre of the island and looks over the Coral Sea.
Accommodation
Designed to preserve natural sightlines, the complex’s low-rise accommodation is furnished in a relaxed, contemporary style. Spacious bathrooms feature rain showers, freestanding baths and his and her sinks, while each room comes with a private terrace that looks out over the beach onto the azure waters beyond. All come with complimentary WiFi and direct access to the hotel’s best feature – its white sands. Best of all, the Beach Club is strictly child-free.
Dining
Guests have exclusive access to the hotel’s Beach Club Restaurant in its gorgeous palm tree fringed poolside location. An à la carte breakfast is included in the nightly tariff while you should look for the fresh slices from the hotel’s bakery for lunch. In the evening, the restaurant is transformed into a fine dining location as staff serve cocktails and candlelit dinner under the stars. Beach Club guests also have access to Hamilton Island’s restaurants that range from gourmet fish and chip takeaways to occasion dining at Bommie Restaurant.
Facilities
For those looking for relaxation, spend the day in the spa, retreat to a hammock or laze in a deck chair on the private beach. If you prefer things a bit faster paced, there are laps to be swum in the infinity pool and complimentary access to the hotel’s selection of water sports including catamarans, paddle skiing, snorkelling and windsurfing. Back on land there’s also tennis and bush walking through the dense island interior. Nearby activities include diving, golf, dinghy hire, sailing and quad bikes.
