Location
Coconut Lagoon is situated about 78 km from Cochin, hidden among the palm trees on the eastern shore of lake Vembanad at the mouth of the Kavanar River. The hotel is nicely set on an abandoned coconut plantation in the very heart of these fascinating backwaters. The hotel is also dedicated to supporting the local community, contributing to the local area's ecology, community and culture.
Accommodation
Every room in the Coconut Lagoon Resort has bespoke interior design, and every piece of furniture has been meticulously chosen to give interiors an individual look. Pool Villas have beautiful and silent contemplative gardens, with private plunge pools and windows looking out over acres of endless paddy. Villa rooms have furniture made with local materials, offset with linen and rough-woven cotton.
Dining
The Coconut Lagoon Resort serves traditional Keralan cuisine, which is home cooked and often features freshly caught fish. There are two restaurants at the hotel - the main being the Tang of Malabar that's a traditional buffet, serving authentic Malabari food. Alternatively, enjoy freshly grilled fish at the Lakeside Grill.
Facilities
The hotel offers some excellent experiences that give an authentic insight into Kuttanad life. These range from a beautiful butterfly garden to the Ayurveda Centre where you can have massages and treatments to rejuvenate and de-stress. It's also a centre of art and culture that plays host to some of the finest dancers, musicians and performers of traditional Keralan art forms.
