Location
Set in a wide valley, Desert Rhino Camp lies amongst the rolling rocky hills of the 450000-hectare Palmwag Concession, a region marked for its tranquil beauty and surprising wealth of wildlife, including largest free-roaming black rhino population in Africa. The quickest way to access the camp is via a fly-in, as the camp is situated just a15-minute transfer from the nearest airstrip.
Accommodation
Accommodating a maximum of 16 guests, the eight Meru-style canvas tents are set against a dramatic backdrop of the Etendeka Mountains they feature private verandas, stylish bathrooms with twin sinks and comfy king size beds with mosquito nets.
Dining
A breakfast buffet including cooked breakfasts is designed to keep you going during morning game activities, whilst lunch is usually a picnic surrounded by the desert scenery. Evening meals are often served outside with a variety of delicious dishes, around the camp’s fire pit and under a spectacular starry sky.
Facilities
Activities on offer at Desert Rhino Camp include twice-daily game drives in the morning and at night, animal tracking experiences, birding and guided walks. Other facilities include an elevated lounge area with panoramic views, swimming pool and bar.
