Location
A hauntingly beautiful eco-lodge, Mowani Mountain Camp is sculpted atop a rocky outcrop with soaring views across the Abu Haub valley. Situated amidst the vast expanses of the Damaraland savannah in the northwest of Namibia, it is located 520km from Windhoek Airport, approximately 1.5 hours by flight in a light aircraft.
Accommodation
The camp’s 12 'view' rooms offer either valley or hill-top vistas. Accommodation is rustic yet elegant, incorporating open-air bathrooms, traditional thatched ceilings and a use of colour and texture that is totally in keeping with the surrounding wilderness. All rooms feature private verandas, allowing you to take in fantastic surroundings and vistas. Three premium accommodation options include a luxury room, a mini-suite and a spacious mountain suite, each with its own splash pool.
Dining
Breakfast offers guests a choice of cereals, fresh fruits, cooked breakfasts, pancakes and freshly baked muffins, breads, cold meats and cheeses. Light lunches including salads and sandwiches are served, followed by a real treat – a varied dinner menu offering four courses in the romantic dining room. Prior to dinner, a small bar opens nightly for sundowner drinks atop a large rock outcrop, offering unmissable sunset views.
Facilities
On site facilities include a main lodge providing plenty of books on Namibia and a small camp shop selling safari gear and handicrafts. Enjoy swimming at the natural rock pool and bird watching, in addition to nature walks, excursions to Tyfelfontein to see Bushmen’s rock engravings and paintings and private guided tours to track desert elephants.
