Activity adventure | Relaxation
Built originally as a base for outdoor enthusiasts over 100 years ago, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise boasts one of the most memorable settings in the Rockies, surrounded as it is by the waters of Lake Louise. The resort is open year round, affording the perfect base for superb hiking, mountain biking and water based activities during the summer months and world-class skiing and alpine activities in the winter.
Location
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is one of the only hotels directly on Lake Louise and is around 2½ hour’s drive from Calgary and 4½ hours from Edmonton. Both valet and self parking are available. Since the hotel sits within the Banff National Park, a park fee is payable when you enter. Please ask us for further details.
Accommodation
There are 550 rooms and comfortable suites with modern amenities. Not all rooms here have views of the lake, so we recommend that you book a Fairmont Lake View or Deluxe Lake View to ensure that you do. Fairmont Gold is a concierge-style service that offers a private check-in and access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge, which is home to beautiful views and is where a complimentary breakfast is served daily. Other benefits include tea and coffee served throughout the day and an honour bar, where canapés are served between 5 and 7pm.
Dining
There is a multitude of choice when it comes to dining at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The Walliser Stube serves classic alpine food including an authentic Swiss fondue, The Fairview offers fine dining and signature cocktails while the Lago Italian Kitchen is an Italian-inspired buffet that opens seasonally. The Poppy Brasserie is open for breakfast offering both an a la carte menu and an extensive buffet; during the summer months it is a fun, casual spot for dinner. Alternatively, the Lake View Lounge is open daily and serves a light tapas-style menu during the early evening, while the Glacier Saloon is a pub and sports bar. The Chateau Deli is open 24 hours a day with hot meals, snacks and sandwiches; they can also prepare picnic lunches. Afternoon tea is available daily although pre-booking is recommended.
Facilities
There is a full day spa and health club with an indoor pool, steam room, whirlpool and fitness centre. You will also find a range of boutiques and gift shops, laundry service, baby sitting and various children’s clubs operating at certain times of the year.
