Four Seasons stand out style, four swimming pools, farm to table fine dining, all overlooking the Pacific make this one of Costa Rica’s premier hotels. There are adventures to be had in every direction – from zip lining and surfing to hiking up volcanoes.
Costa Rica’s singular and lush beauty surrounds the resort, where plush rooms and suites have been designed with floor-to-ceiling windows to let the view in at all times. Ginormous sofas and cosy hammocks provide plenty of chilling out space, while beds are vast and enticing. Bathrooms are just as splendid, with swathes of marble and slate and fluffy robes and designer toiletries, and most have huge windows for gazing out over the sea or lush gardens. Indigenous art and wood lend warmth to the interiors, which bring the outside in whenever possible, and given that the outside is the spectacularly beautiful Peninsula Papagayo, it’s the icing on a very moreish cake. If the suites aren’t swish enough, there are a number of villas dotted along the hilltops, with panoramic views, private swimming pools and chefs on hand.
And, if all that wasn't enough, there's plenty of away-from-the-room indulgences to be savoured, including a wide selection of dining options covering everything from seafood grills to Costa Rican classics bursting with local flavour. There are bars serving cocktails and craft beers to stunning sea views, and a sumptuous spa complete with treatments rooms and poolside cabanas. And, last but not least, the golf course – ranked among the top 100 courses outside the United States – serves up Arnold Palmer-designed fairways and greens framed by lush rainforest alive with nature.
