Location
Located on a prime waterfront site on Ibo Island in the Quirimbas Archipelago, the lodge is set amongst lush, tropical palm gardens in a stylish yet simple and relaxed retreat. The lodge is easily accessible by a 25-minute air transfer from Pemba, which is connected to major airports such as Johannesburg and Nairobi by daily flights.
Accommodation
Ibo Island prides itself on offering some of the most unique, authentic and luxurious accommodation in Mozambique. The 14 rooms feature high ceilings, spacious bathrooms and views of the sea or gardens. The sea facing rooms are particularly appealing, with four-poster beds, dark teak ceiling beams and the chance to contemplate island life from a large private verandah.
Dining
Culinary splendour is prepared in the award-nominated kitchen, where fruits of the ocean and other tropical dishes with Mozambican and Swahili dishes are served. Dining at the Ibo is an elaborate and indulgent event, and can be enjoyed at numerous locations: the privacy of your own verandah, Ibo’s sandbank beach, at the fort of Joao Baptiste or on the rooftop terrace under the stars and lantern light.
Facilities
Dhow and birding safaris, dolphin tours, sea kayaking and some of Mozambique’s best scuba diving are just some of the activities on offer at this unique lodge, in addition to three swimming pools and spa facilities.
