Location
With a majestic karri forest as its backdrop, this rustic resort provides the ideal base from which to explore the undisturbed nature of Australia’s scenic southwest corner. The resort is located 22 km from Pemberton township meaning that it’s close to local wineries and attractions, yet far enough away to appreciate the remote tranquillity of this region. From the grounds, you can indulge in hikes, jogs and bike rides through nature preserves and trails, spotting emus and kangaroos on your way.
Accommodation
Lakeside Rooms overlook the trout-filled waters and each has its own private balcony from which you can sit back and enjoy the view or drop a fishing line over the edge. Generously sized, they also come with televisions, outside furniture and tea/coffee making facilities. Stray a little further from the water’s edge and you’ll come to the large Two and Three Bedroom Chalets. Nestled among the trees, these self-contained chalets provide full forest views and offer self-contained living with a fully-equipped kitchenette. In the evening, settle down in front of the log fire fuelled by pre-chopped wood.
Dining
The Pemberton region is fast gaining a reputation for culinary delights with fine ingredients trickling down from Margaret River. The resort’s restaurant, overlooking Lake Beedlebup, serves a continental buffet breakfast supplemented by an à la carte menu. For dinner, starters featuring freshly baked Turkish bread lead up to entrées that showcase the region’s exceptional seafood. For mains, expect dishes such as chicken roulade and Margaret River kangaroo before finishing with a selection of indulgent desserts.
Facilities
Karri Valley Resort puts on a full range of activities to make the most of its idyllic setting. Take to the lake on rowboats, canoes or surf skis while rods and bait can be hired from the resort’s general store for a spot of afternoon fishing. In terms of sports, there’s two tennis courts, indoor table tennis, guided archery sessions and an 18-hole mini golf course tucked away among the trees.
