Location
Khem Villas is a superior jungle camp, and has been established since 1989 on the same land. It's located on the outskirts of Ranthambore and not far from the national park entrance. When moving there, the owners planted indigenous trees and created small water bodies, meaning they've converted the vast, open grassland into a natural habitat. Today, it's not uncommon to see jackals, jungle cats, hyenas, desert fox and crocodiles within the grasslands. It's also excellent for bird watching.
Accommodation
The hotel is environmentally sensitive, meaning the accommodation is also. They're all built with locally sourced materials, and are unfussy and focused on the nature that surrounds them. Options range from Cottages, which have their own 1,600 sq ft compounds, Tents, which are erected on wooden platforms and supported by a steel frame, or Rooms that are in the main building of Khem Villas.
Dining
You will be served a selection of Indian, Western and Oriental cuisine. All food at Khem Villas is vegetarian, made with freshly picked and grown vegetables and herbs. Most of the everyday ingredients are sourced from organic farms around the hotel, and even the milk is sourced from a local farm where the cows are fed organic feed.
Facilities
The Age Veda Spa at Khem Villas is a place to connect to nature, in spirit and body. It offers a range of organic detoxing treatments. Activities available include trips into the surrounding jungle, nature walks into the surrounding 12 acres of forest, and an hour's drive out to Rathambhore, where you can see herds of Black Buck, magnificent gazelle, and the desert landscape.
