Experience a memorable tiger safari in Ranthambore National Park on this extension which can be easily added on to our India tailor-made holidays. The best known of India's national parks, Ranthambore – open between October and June – is one of the best places to observe tigers in their natural habitat. Join expert-led safari out among the park's dry forests and lakesides to hopefully spot tigers and a wide range of other animals native to the park, including leopards, striped hyenas, sambar deer, chital and common or hanuman langurs.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Sawai Madhopur – Ranthambore

The Ranthambore National Park was once the hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, before being turned into a game sanctuary in 1955, and in 1980 it was made a national park. It was also included in Project Tiger in 1972, an initiative set up to protect tigers in the wild. The park is famous for its tigers and due to conservation efforts the tiger population has stabilised if not increased. Tigers can be spotted quite regularly, even in the middle of the day, either hunting and taking care of their young. But that's not all it has to offer. It's also rich in other flora and fauna, including mammals and reptiles, as well as over 300 species of vegetation.  After lunch, you'll head out on your first game drive in the park.
