Location
La Folie Lodge is situated on the banks of the Mekong River in southern Laos, where exceptional beauty and natural charm combine with areas of significant cultural interest. The lodge rests on a secluded beach facing the ruined Khmer temples of Vat Phou. Idyllically and peacefully located, it offers a refined and tranquil retreat with international-class facilities.
Accommodation
This intimate lodge offers 24 comfortable rooms within 12 bungalows, furnished using the finest local materials and positioned amongst beautifully landscaped gardens. For families, larger groups, or for those after something really special, the Residence – a luxury villa set away from the main lodge, features two bedrooms and a lounge room with French doors opening onto a balcony with views of the Mekong.
Dining
The lodge’s poolside restaurant offers al fresco dining and serves a choice of continental or Asian specialities. The bar will not disappoint cocktail aficionados and wine connoisseurs served by a team of friendly local staff.
Facilities
The lodge’s pool is the ideal spot to cool off after basking in the hot sun. But, if you’re feeling more adventurous, take a bike ride, a boat tour or walk around the island for an unforgettable encounter with the friendly local inhabitants. Alternatively, go to Done Daeng Island, which is located inside the Champassak Cultural and Natural Heritage Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has sandy beaches and pre-Angkorian ruins.
