Location
Located upon a natural extension of the famous Garden Route, Shamwari Game Reserve Southern Lodge, Long Lee Manor, is situated 45 minutes by car from Port Elizabeth Airport. The five-star lodge glowers over the South African savannah, overlooking sweeping plains to the Bushmans River, allowing guests to view panoramic views of the extraordinary wildlife across the savannahs.
Accommodation
Set within an expansive Edwardian Manor House, guests are offered colonial style furnishings, majestic gardens and elegant verandas. Accommodating 38 guests in 15 en-suite rooms and three luxury suites, all rooms sleep a maximum of two people, are luxurious and spacious with features for selected rooms, including adjoining rooms and balcony space.
Dining
Long Lee Manor has its own kitchen, with dining often a communal affair accompanied by other guests or those on the safari vehicle. Meal plans vary according to holiday package and therefore guests are asked to enquire at the time of booking, but alternate nightly between a set menu and BBQ dinner. Depending upon the length of stay, dining may either be in the dining room or spent in the Barn.
Facilities
Game drives tend to be the focal point during the stay at Long Lee Manor, with interactive game drives of up to three hours at sunrise and sunset and opportunities to spot a mass variety of birdlife, the Big Five and many other species. After game drives, guests are invited to relax around a pool or engage in guided walks, star gazing or visit the animal rehabilitation centre of animal rescue and education centres.
