City-break
Located on the edge of downtown Macao, overlooking the modern harbour and vast Nam Van Lake, Mandarin Oriental Macau is all about style. Close enough to the city’s attractions to be convenient, and not so close as to be sucked into the Vegas-like glitz, this hotel has got the balance just right – a chic, high-rise oasis within the bustling glamour of the city’s central hub. And, guests can admire it all from the heated infinity pool that comes complete with sweeping city views.
Shipshape both in the literal and metaphorical sense – the building has been designed to mimic the bow of a ship – a luxury stay on Macao’s glittering waterfront doesn’t get much better than this. Impeccable service, elegant interiors and contemporary finishes, the Mandarin Oriental oozes sophistication and this is reflected in each of its two-hundred plus rooms. All rooms boast incredible views, but for some of the best, we recommend opting for the floor-to-ceiling windows that are on offer in any with 'Premier Views'.
Dining at the on-site Vida Rica Restaurant is sumptuous affair. Guests can revel in panoramic vistas of the South China Sea as it casts back reflections of the city’s bright lights, whilst they delve into innovative blends of Asian and western dishes that epitomise Macau’s mishmash of cultures. The Alaskan Spider Crab is a firm favourite, and a post-dinner cocktail in the marble clad Vida Rica Bar is a must.
