Ngala Tented Camp, Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Location

Situated on the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River, Ngala Tented Camp is located in 14,700 hectares of exclusive game reserve, attached to Kruger National Park. Access to the camp is easiest by air or road. If travelling by air, guests can use the Federal Air daily flight, from Johannesburg O.R Tambo Airport to Ngala airstrip, located 45 minutes from the camp. Alternatively, driving time from Johannesburg is five hours.

Accommodation

Nine spacious tents offer luxurious accommodation at Ngala Tented Camp, raised on wooden platforms in classic African style. All deluxe suites feature outdoor showers, gauze screen windows; oversized bath tubs and a private wooden deck with views to the riverbed.

Dining

A wealth of variety in cuisine astounds guests at Ngala, as dining is always a special event. Lunch is offered at the pool or on the viewing decks, and alfresco dinners can be enjoyed in the dry river bed.

Facilities

With the ‘Big Five’ habituating the landscape, this safari lodge is located in the centre of a game rich country. Guests are invited to embark upon exciting game drives in specialised safari vehicles, accompanied by expert rangers to maximise the safari experience. Excellent game viewing opportunities are complemented by other activities such as helicopter flights, bush sundowners on the African safari, guided safari walks and photographic safaris. A contemporary guest area also overlooks the riverbed, and further merges with a lap pool, with other hotel facilities including a small safari shop.
