Location
Perched high on a ridge overlooking the sprawling jungles of northern Costa Rica’s Tenorio National Park, this luxury lodge is truly idyllic. And, while relaxation is the name of the game at the lodge itself, with so much pristine landscape on your doorstep, you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy a whole range of activities, detailed in full below.
Accommodation
Luxurious lodges are dotted throughout the expansive grounds, offering privacy and sweeping views across the estate and beyond to Nicaragua Lake and its surrounding rainforest, all framed by distant volcanoes. The lodges themselves, all butler served, are wonderfully spacious, offering 100 square metres of indulgent sophistication with a classically Costa Rican twist. As such, you can expect the likes of handcrafted canopy beds, elegant wood shutters, outdoor showers and a large terrace complete with fire-heated bath. For something extra special, the Villa Vertigo offers 220 square metres of luxury living space suspended in the treetops. Here, everything from a huge terrace and Jacuzzi to a fully equipped kitchen provides home-from-home comforts for up to six guests.
Dining
With resident Michelin-starred chef Jean-Luc L’Hourre at the helm, Origins’ restaurant is a true celebration of the produce and flavours of Costa Rica, paired with the flair of classic French cuisine. Ingredients are invariably sourced from the estate’s very own gardens and lakes, as well as the Costa Rica’s countryside and coast, and transformed into likes of ginger-sealed tuna, southern trout with garden vegetable and sumptuous deserts such as Rum Baba in Mojito perfume – delicious. It’s all paired with an extensive wine list, selected from the onsite cellar, and served in the dining room overlooking the valley below.
Activities
As mentioned above, while the lodge is made for relaxation, there are also plenty of activities available to fill the days. You might choose to join the chef to select ingredients for the day’s menu, go fishing in the lagoon, ride horseback through the jungle or join a yoga class in the outdoor pavilion. There’s also everything from hiking and birdwatching to nighttime wildlife tours. Speak to our specialists for the full range of options.
